Dwellings for the working class, Peabody Square, Shadwell. View of the Peabody-Square which was completed in 1867. The buildings are six storey high and their arrangement form the square. Each building has 44 tenements of one room. The wash-houses and the baths on the attic floor are distributed in a manner in which it offers greater accommodation. This image was published in the London Illustrated News dated February 23, 1867 on page 193 of Vol. L, no. 1414.
