Georgina Brackenbury was daughter of Hilda and sister to Marie Brackenbury and all were prominent Suffragette campaigners. Georgina joined the Womens Social and Political Union (WSPU) in 1907 and was arrested in 1908 for her part in a demonstration outside the House of Commons. After her release Georgina spoke publicly of her experiences and toured Germany giving speeches to interested groups on the subject of womens suffrage. In 1912 she was imprisoned again for her part in the window smashing campaign.
