Entrance to Vauxhall Gardens towards the end of their life, they closed finally in 1859. The picture shows a bend or corner in a street, with houses opposite on the extreme right. A series of entrance doors are set in a wooden wall behind a projecting colonnade surmounted by a pediment bearing a coat of arms. The entrance is flanked by a low fence on either side, and behind it are tall trees and glimpses of a pavilion.
