This print of Henry VIII was made from a copy of a mural by the painter Holbein. Hans Holbein the Younger was born into a family of artists in Augsburg in Germany. In 1532 Holbein settled in London and became Court Painter. His portraits of the leading figures of Henry VIII's court are important surviving records of powerful individuals of the time.
