Roman bone hairpin. This hairpin is carved in bone and shows a portrait of Vibia Sabina - wife of Emperor Hadrian who ruled from 117- 138AD. Sabina's portrait is highly decorated and her drapery and hair which is surmounted by the imperial diadem, is very well modelled.
